Our History
BAG Credit Union was registered in April 1992. It has grown steadily over the ensuing years within our Common Bond that is people who live or work, including volunteering, in the area of the Upper Rhymney Valley.

Our admin staff and volunteers are committed to the continuing success of the credit union and to its business ethics and philosophy. The credit union that puts People Before Profit. For over 20 years people in the Greater Bargoed area have achieved a better way of life through participation in their credit union. Now this is open to all who live or work in th Upper Rhymney Valley

Fair returns on Savings
Despite the current economic climate, BAG Credit Union continues to pay an annual dividend on savings. Dividends can fluctuate from year to year as they are dependent on the previous year's figures.
We are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Deposits up to £85,000 are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
Built-in life insurance; to support the credit union principal that "the debt dies with the debtor" we provide at no extra cost to the Member life insurance to cover the cost of the Loan and also savings. Conditions apply.
